Nobody Is Above the Broom
At Mad O Wot, everyone is a CCO. Some are Chief Cutting Officers, some are Chief Cleaning Officers, some move between both in the same day. There’s no hierarchy attached to the work here and no one is “above” sweeping hair, washing cups, setting up colour, or making someone feel comfortable. The salon runs on participation, not status. Skill matters, but so does presence, care, humour, conversation, cleaning up after yourself, and knowing when to step in. Mad O Wot was never built like a traditional salon, and the crew reflects that; fluid roles, shared responsibility, and respect for every part of the space that keeps it alive.
